and older\, that can work independently in the ICCGS Community Studio.  Since there is no instruction included in Open Studio Sessions you must have a proficient level of skills with your media\, along with a comprehensive understanding of how the ICCGS Community Studio operates.\nTo be eligible for Open Studio\, you must have completed classes or registered for open studio with in the past 12 months.  If you have not worked in our studio with in the past 12 months\, but have worked with us before\, please make sure to set up a studio orientation meeting (a $60 one time fee) with our Studio Manager at studiomanager@iowaceramicscenter.org prior to enrolling.\n\nOrientation/ Skill Assessment Session must be scheduled in advance with the Studio Manager at studiomanager@iowaceramicscenter.org\n\n\nAll Open Studio Participants must adhere to all Studio Guidelines and Procedures. A link to the current handbook can be found here.\nIf an artist is unable to successfully work within the guidelines of Open Studio\, they will be asked to return to a class session to further their understanding of the operations of the ICCGS Studio.\nWe have established the following guidelines utilizing COVID-19 precautions in mind: You must observe all posted COVID-19 precautions. Please do not enter the studio if you are feeling unwell and/or been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.\nSpace is available on a first come first served basis.\nParticipants must sign in and out of the studio.\nOne shelf is included in your Open Studio registration.\nOpen Studio Patrons are required to pay for all ceramic firing before work is fired in the kiln. Firing Policy can be found on our website under “Shop”. Please prepay for all firing online at this link: https://iowaceramicscenter.square.site/ceramic-firing\nOpen Studio Patrons must provide their own materials and tools\, some community tools are available.\nAll supplies and tools purchased from the ICCGS office must be paid upon receipt of goods. For adult classes\, all students should attend their one scheduled class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class. If a class MUST be missed\, no additional makeup classes\, refunds\, or credits for class will be given for missed classes. Private lessons\, for current ceramic students\, are available at $35 per hour. \nAge Requirements: All students in 4-8 week classes must be 18 years of age at the time of their session.  For individuals between the ages of 14-17\, an adult registered in the same class may accompany them as their supervisor.  For Open Studio time outside of class time\, individuals must be 18 years of age to work in the studio unaccompanied.   \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy. In glass classes full length pants and closed toed shoes are mandatory. \nCancellation Policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event\, participants will be notified and credited for a future class/workshop. and for ages 8-15 (glass projects) \nAt ICCGS\, we have provided art education for over 10 years through our Summer Camp Programs.  In each of our 2-hour Summer Workshops\, campers will create a project using a variety of hand building skills–in either clay and warm glass–with help from our Summer Camp Instructors.  For clay projects\, campers will then paint their projects using special ceramic glazes.   All projects will then be fired in the kiln and available for pickup 3 weeks after their workshop.  These camps are a great option for siblings who want to take a class together!   \nDesert Cactus:  Let’s create your own desert oasis by creating a cacti or succulent from clay.  We will carve\, pinch and work from pieces of clay to create a cactus that won’t poke you. Campers will then add color by painting them with our special ceramic glazes\, making their project truly one of a kind!  Your camper’s project\, approximately 4”x4”\, will be available for pick up three weeks after their workshop. Parents are welcome to wait in the Cherry Building lobby until the end of class. \nWhat to Wear and Bring: Clay may be messy\, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Please make sure your child is wearing clothing that can be easily laundered. For wheel classes\, long hair should be kept away from the face.  For glass workshops covered thighs are REQUIRED for safety. Food is prohibited in the studio but water bottles (with secure tops) are allowed.  \nCancellation Policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met. In that event\, participants will be notified and refunds will be given. \nRefunds and Transfers: Parents/Adults may cancel their child’s session for a full refund no later than one week (7 days) before the first day of class. A $15 processing fee is required to transfer from one camp to another (if space is available) 7 days prior to the start of camp. No refunds or transfers will be allowed with less than 7 day’s notice. \nCompleted Projects: Student’s work will be available for pickup exactly three weeks after the end of their session; we will NOT call or email you when items are ready for pickup. All summer camp projects left in the studio after September 5th\, 2023 will be recycled. \nPlease note: when you pick up your child’s items\, be sure to have the camp code with you (i.e. 1LA). The code is indicated on your emailed receipt.  Every child will have their own brown bag labeled with their camp code and first name. Having the camp code with you is necessary to correctly locate your child’s items\, since there will be hundreds of bags. Before coming in\, please check studio hours to ensure we are open.   \nMonday-CLOSED (we are only open during the time of summers that are running) \nTuesday-Thursday 10am-8pm \nFriday-Sunday 10am-4pm   \n[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
