This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. This class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old. items to decorate the outside of it including: Stamps\, rollers\, surfacing techniques\, etc.  You will then decorate you project using various colors of glazes to result in beautiful one of a kind Projects will then be fired in the kiln and measure approximately 4”x4”. Brewing Co. are excited to host another workshop at Lion Bridge Brewing’s Tap Room. \nIn this workshop\, participants will make a ghost from clay by using various hand building techniques. Participants will then decorate it by creating texture and add color with glazes (paint). Projects will then be taken back to ICCGS to dry and then coated with a special clear glaze and fired twice in their kilns. In this workshop\, you will design your own glass plant stake to decorate your garden or planter. Participants will use geometric glass shapes to create this 3″x12″ art piece. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kiln. every Fall! Participants will create a decorative Jack o’ Lantern using various hand-building techniques. Create and add all the details and then glaze (paint) with colors to bring it to life. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then they will be coated with a special clear glaze and fired again. This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old. Please note that you will not be emailed or called to pick up your work.  All remaining projects will be discarded after 60 days. \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy.  Masks are mandatory in the studi. \nCancellation policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event\, participants will be notified and credit for a future class/workshop credit will be given in the form of a certificate.  Participants may cancel their session for future class credits 7 days/ 1 week before the class/workshop begins.  You may email us at info@iowaCeramicsCenter.org about your cancellation. \nWeather:  If your workshop is scheduled to be outside\, you will be given the option to work inside\, or take home a project. \nAll classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio\, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117.  Please enter the building through the 10th Avenue side of the building. \n[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
