participants will learn to assemble small pieces of ceramics and glass\, to create a mosaic landscape design on a 10”x10” board. Participants will cut\, design and assemble pieces of pre-made and upcycled glazed ceramics and glass\, into their very own design. Projects should evoke inspiration from the native prairie grass landscape of Eastern Iowa. The mosaic design will then be affixed to the board with adhesive and dried overnight. All mosaic boards will be grouted and then the one-of-a-kind projects will be available for pick-up one week later\, on November 11th. \nFrom 80 participants in the workshop\, Jill will select approximately 20-30 boards to be a part of her larger Community Exhibition. If your project is selected to be a part of the large Community Installation Project\, you will receive an email with detailed instructions via email before November 11th. \nPlease note that if your piece is chosen to be a part of the Community Exhibition\, you may choose to have ICCGS store your project until after the exhibition comes down in 2024. creating a natural leaf bowl in this class.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own leaves/flowers\, or use the ones we have gathered.  Using various hand building techniques\, participants will create a decorative leaf bowl using actual leaves found in nature.  Create and add all the details and then glaze (paint) with colors to bring it to life. This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. This class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old. This class will teach you the following steps: how to center clay on the wheel\, and how to pull a small form (cups or bowls). This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old.
