SUMMARY:Mobile Event at Brucemore: Glass Butterfly Garden Stake
DESCRIPTION:Add a vibrant pop of color to your garden in this creative collaboration between Brucemore and the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio! \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll design your own stunning glass butterfly using warm glass techniques. Choose from a variety of colorful glass pieces to create bright\, eye-catching wings\, then finish your design with playful\, curly antennae. Our instructor will guide you through each step\, making this an approachable and rewarding experience for all skill levels. \nThe workshop takes place in the historic Brucemore Carriage House\, with all materials\, tools\, and protective eyewear provided. After the workshop\, your butterfly will be taken to the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio to be kiln-fired. Once complete\, a metal stake will be added\, transforming your piece into a beautiful\, ready-to-display garden accent—perfect for outdoor spaces or indoor planters. \nRegistration is required by July 19th at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot.Cost: $55 per project \nWhat to Know Before You Go: \n\nSpace is limited and workshops often sell out—advance registration is required.\nRecommended for ages 12 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.\nClosed-toed shoes and leg-covering clothing are required for safety.\nWorkshop duration is approximately 90 minutes.\nFinished pieces will be available for pickup at the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio about three weeks after the workshop.\n\nArrival Information: \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE\, Cedar Rapids.\nFollow posted signs to the Carriage House\, where parking is available.\nCheck in with Brucemore staff upon arrival.\n\nTips for Your Visit: \n\nConsider leaving large bags or personal items in your vehicle.
