Firing costs range by size (a 5-inch cup is approximately $5.00 to fire).  All firing should be paid online\, prior to firing\, via our payment system.\nFor Open Studio access\, students are required to adhere to ICCGS Open Studio Policies\n\nWaiver of Liability: In signing up for this class/workshop you understand that there are certain dangers\, hazards\, and risks inherent in working in a Ceramic and Glass Studio.  If tools and/or equipment are used improperly\, they can cause personal injury. ICCGS does not assume responsibility for any such personal injury or property damage including stolen personal items while on the property. In addition\, by putting items in our kilns\, you understand that there are intrinsic risks to the firing process\, and projects may get damaged.   \nMake-up Policy: ICCGS is not responsible for changes in students’ personal schedules. For adult classes\, all students should attend their one scheduled class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class. If a class MUST be missed\, no additional makeup classes\, refunds\, or credits for class will be given for missed classes. Private lessons\, for current ceramic students\, are available at $35 per hour. \nAge Requirements: All students in 4-8 week classes must be 18 years of age at the time of their session.  For individuals between the ages of 14-17\, an adult registered in the same class may accompany them as their supervisor.  For Open Studio time outside of class time\, individuals must be 18 years of age to work in the studio unaccompanied.   \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy. DESCRIPTION:[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” link_option_url_new_window=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”] \nOur Santa’s Workshop series returns for 2022!\nBeginning November 19th\, a workshop will be held every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-12pm through December 18th.\nWe invite you to come in and decorate a variety of pre-made Holiday Projects to celebrate the holiday season.  All projects are handmade by our Resident Artists and bisque fired\, making them ready for your own decorations–using our glazes/paints.  There is no pre-registration\, this workshop is for walk-ins only.  You can choose to decorate your project in our classroom\, or take it home and return it to us later for firing.\nAll clay projects will then be clear coated and fired in our kilns. Glass Ornaments will also be fired in our kilns to smooth all the edges. All material is provided to complete your projects along with detailed instruction sheets.  All projects (except for the glass ornaments) are premade by our Resident Artists and bisque fired in our kilns\, no two are exactly the same.  After you have finished decorating your project in the classroom (or at home)\, all clay projects will then be clear coated with glaze and fired kilns. Glass Ornaments will also be fired in our kilns to smooth all the edges. \nLocation: The Santa’s Workshop at the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio (ICCGS)\, which is located on the first floor of in the historic Cherry Building in Cedar Rapids. \nPurchase: There is no pre-registration\, you will be able to choose from a variety of projects\, payable on the day of the workshop. You can choose to decorate your project in our classroom\, or take it home and return it to us later for firing. \nProjects will be ready for pickup exactly 2 weeks later. Please note that participants will not be called or emailed to be reminded to pick up their work.
