This Summer Camp will introduce your camper to the ceramics wheel. Over two days\, campers will be taught the fundamentals of wheel throwing and glazing. Students will learn techniques using the wheel to make pots of different styles\, such as: cups and bowls. Campers will add colors to their creations by painting with special glazes and slips\, to make their project truly one of a kind. One project will be chosen to be fired each day.  Projects will be dried on our shelves\, then fired in our kilns for pick up three weeks after camp ends. This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old.
