This year you will create Snowperson ornament (approximately 3″x3″). In this workshop\, you will learn to cut pieces of glass to bring your snowperson to life. Each participant will create one unique ornament in this workshop. We will then fire the ornaments in our kilns and they will be ready for pickup 3 weeks later. All clay projects will then be clear coated with glaze and fired again in our kilns. Glass Ornaments will also be fired in our kilns to smooth all the edges. Using glass balls and small colored pieces of glass\, you will create your unique tree ornament.   We will add a hanger to the back of your glass ornament for ease in hanging.\n$15\n\n\n\n\nCeramic Holiday Ornaments (set of 2)\n\n\nEach 2 piece set Includes: Reindeer & Gingerbread Person\n$20\n\n\n\n\nCeramic Holiday Ornaments (set of 4)\n\n\nEach 4 piece set will include: Reindeer\, Santa\, Holiday Tree & Gingerbread Person\n$35\n\n\n\n\nCeramic Mug\n\n\nOur Resident Artists have created mugs with handles on the wheel. All material is provided to complete your projects along with detailed instruction sheets.  All projects (except for the glass ornaments) are premade by our Resident Artists and bisque fired in our kilns\, no two are exactly the same.  After you have finished decorating your project in the classroom\,  all clay projects will then be clear coated with glaze and fired again in our kilns. Glass Ornaments will also be fired in our kilns to smooth all the edges. \nLocation: The Santa’s Workshop at the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio (ICCGS)\, which is located on the first floor of in the historic Cherry Building in Cedar Rapids. \nProjects will be ready for pickup exactly 2 weeks later. This year you will create Snowperson ornament (approximately 3″x3″). In this workshop\, you will learn to cut pieces of glass to bring your snowperson to life. Each participant will create one unique ornament in this workshop. We will then fire the ornaments in our kilns and they will be ready for pickup 3 weeks later. This firing will be a single chamber firing\, utilizing wood ash only. Led by past resident and friend of the iCCGS Alea Walter\, the goal of this firing is to initiate seasonal community focused firings. \nReserve your spot with this $50 refundable deposit\, registration ends on October 23rd.  Your deposit will help cover any unexpected costs such as damage to the temperature readers\, kiln shelves\, or other equipment that we will split as a group. Firing costs range by size (a 5-inch cup is approximately $3.00 to fire)\n*For Open Studio access\, students are required to adhere to ICCGS Open Studio Policies and current COVID-19 protocols.\n\nMake-up Policy: ICCGS is not responsible for changes in students’ personal schedules. For adult classes\, all students should attend one class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class.
