In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. Students will build upon their skills through the week with two days of wheel throwing and three days of hand building skills to include: coiling\, pinching and slab-building.  In addition to being exposed to a working pottery studio\, each student will receive individualized instructions according to their interest and experience. Students will also learn basic glazing techniques to make their project colorful and truly one of a kind. Please check our updated COVID policies located on our website for any questions regarding our safety procedures—the safety of our campers\, staff and studio members is paramount to ICCGS.  \nDrop Off/Pick Up: for all 2/3/5 day summer camps\, check-in and check-out will take place at the entrance to iCCGS\, located inside the Cherry Building across from the NewBo Marketplace. Parents/adults must sign their child in and out of camp every day. For all 1-day workshops\, check-in and check-out will take place at the entrance of the ICCGS STEAM Classroom (ON THE 11th Avenue SIDE)\, Please be punctual with all drop-offs and pick-ups. Sign-in begins no more than 5 minutes before the start of camp. Unless previously arranged\, campers will not be released until the end of class. For the best creative experience\, and for COVID precautions\, for all\, parents/adults are not allowed in the studio space during class time — but are welcome to wait in the lobby area until the end of class. At the time of your summer camp\, please adhere to all posted information regarding COVID precautions and wearing masks inside the building.  \nWhat to Wear and Bring: Masks in the studio are mandatory.  Clay may be messy\, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Please make sure your child is wearing clothing that can be easily laundered. For glass workshops (Studio Experience) closed-toed shoes and covered thighs are REQUIRED for safety. Food is prohibited in the studio but water bottles (with secure tops) are allowed. \nCancellation Policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met. In that event\, participants will be notified and refunds will be given. \nRefunds and Transfers: Parents/Adults may cancel their child’s session for a full refund no later than one week (7 days) before the first day of class. A $15 processing fee is required to transfer from one camp to another\, if space is available 7 days prior to the start of camp. No refunds or transfers will be allowed with less than 7 days notice. \nCompleted Projects: Student’s work will be available for pickup exactly three weeks after the end of their session; we will NOT call or email you when items are ready for pickup. All summer camp projects left in the studio after September 5th will be recycled. \nPlease note: when you pick up your child’s items\, be sure to have the camp code with you (i.e. 1LA). Every child will have their own brown bag labeled with their camp code and first name. We ask that you remain in your designated area for the duration of the workshopo Families will be seated together.● We have reduced the capacity for classes and workshops to 50%● Everyone who attends a workshop\, must have paid for a seat to attend● Everyone entering the Studio must wear masks at all times. Masks must cover your nose and mouth.
