DESCRIPTION:[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”3.26.5″ custom_padding=”80px|||||”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row” _builder_version=”3.25″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.6″ link_option_url_new_window=”on”] \nSummer Youth Art Camps at ICCGS–for ages 8-15!  At ICCGS\, we have provided art education for over 10 years through our Summer Camp Programs.  For 2021\, we are excited to offer a variety of 1-day workshops.  In each 2-hour Summer Camp Workshop\, campers will create a project using a variety of hand building skills–with help from our Summer Camp Instructors.  The campers will then glaze (aka paint) their works to be fired in our kilns.  Projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks after their workshop.  These camps are a great option for siblings who want to take a class together!\nGlass Butterfly Garden Stake:  create a glass butterfly using pieces of colored glass to resemble a butterfly to place in your garden.  We will then fire your piece in the kiln and attach it to a wooden dowel. At the time of your summer camp\, please adhere to all posted information regarding COVID precautions and wearing masks inside the building.  \nWhat to Wear and Bring: Masks in the studio are mandatory.  Clay may be messy\, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Please make sure your child is wearing clothing that can be easily laundered. For glass workshops (Studio Experience) closed-toed shoes and covered thighs are REQUIRED for safety. Food is prohibited in the studio but water bottles (with secure tops) are allowed. \nCancellation Policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met. In that event\, participants will be notified and refunds will be given. \nRefunds and Transfers: Parents/Adults may cancel their child’s session for a full refund no later than one week (7 days) before the first day of class. In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. Kids ages 8 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult. \nPre-registration online is required for classes and most workshops.  Kids ages 8 and under MUST be accompanied by a paying adult.  Students’ work will be available for pickup 3 weeks after the end of their session/workshop. Please note that you will not be emailed or called to pick up your work.  All remaining projects will be discarded after 60 days. \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy. \nCancellation policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event\, participants will be notified and credit for a future class/workshop credit will be given in the form of a certificate.  Participants may cancel their session for future class credits 72 hours/ 3 days before the class/workshop begins.  You may email us at info@iowaCeramicsCenter.org about your cancellation.  \nWeather:  If your workshop is scheduled to be outside\, you will be given the option to work inside\, or take home a project. \nAll classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio\, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117.  Please enter the building through the 10th Avenue side of the building. \nCurrent COVID-19 Protocols \nWe are committed to following the guidance of public health authorities and will adapt our plans as the situation needs.● To ensure proper social distancing\, tables are marketed with available space to maintain a safe distance. We ask that you remain in your designated area for the duration of the workshopo Families will be seated together.● We have reduced the capacity for classes and workshops to 50%● Everyone who attends a workshop\, must have paid for a seat to attend● Everyone entering the Studio must wear masks at all times. Masks must cover your nose and mouth. This includes all employees\, Instructors\, Resident Artists and contract employees.o Please note that the Cherry Building also requires masks to enter the building\, with large signs posted on the entry doors.o For children\, parents must make sure that their children are able to wear a mask for the duration of the workshop. If your child is unable to wear a mask for 1.5 hours\, we ask that you keep them at home.● Students are required to disinfect their work area before and after using the studio.● The studio is sanitized every morning\, noon and at closing.● For all workshops held in the S.T.E.A.M classroom\, only workshop attendees and their instructors are allowed inside.● We have expanded personal work areas for social distancing recommendations (6 feet)● Availability of hand sanitizer\, bleach spray\, paper towels and hand soap● Students\, Employees\, RA’s and community members are asked to stay at home if they do not feel well\, or have been exposed to COVID-19 and are currently under ‘quarantine status’.● Everyone entering the studio is required to sign in and out of the studio. \n[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
