This includes all employees\, Instructors\, Resident Artists and contract employees.o Please note that the Cherry Building also requires masks to enter the building\, with large signs posted on the entry doors.o For children\, parents must make sure that their children are able to wear a mask for the duration of the workshop. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. For adult classes\, all students should attend one class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class. If a class MUST be missed\, no additional makeup classes\, refunds\, or credits for class will be given for missed classes. Private lessons\, for current students\, are available at $30 per hour. \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy. In glass classes full length pants and closed toed shoes are mandatory.  Masks are required at ICCGS. \nCancellation policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event\, participants will be notified and credit for a future class/workshop. Credit will be given in the form of a certificate.  Participants may cancel their session for future class credits 72 hours/ 3 days before the class/workshop begins.  No refunds are available.  You may email us at info@iowaCeramicsCenter.org. \nWeather:  In case of inclement weather\, please refer to our Facebook page: Iowa Ceramics Center (www.facebook.com/iowaceramicscenter) for all cancellations.  Your class will be rescheduled at your instructor’s discretion. \nAll classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio\, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117.  Please enter the building through the 11th Avenue side of the building. \nEnd of Session Policies: Completed and fired work will only be held for 30 days after the end of session. Non-returning students must clear off their shelves by the last class session. Every week there will be a different projects utilizing clay techniques\, our instructors will discuss the history and use of various techniques while allowing each student to be creative in their own way.  This is a series of after school workshops. Take them often for a comprehensive ceramic experience—or just take one or two for a great stand-alone art experience. In each workshop\, students will create a project and glaze/paint them. We will then fire them in our kilns\, to be ready for picked up 3 weeks after the workshop. A dedicated classroom will be used for every Wednesday workshop.  Masks are mandatory and social distancing is enforced.  These workshops are recommended for ages 7-16. \nThese classes are for ages 7+\, all students must be able to tolerate wearing a mask for the duration of the workshop. All students will be seated to be socially distanced. Parents/Guardians may drop off their kids no more than 10 minutes before class begins\, and pick them up at 5:30pm. \nSelect from the dates/projects below (new dates will be added every month). Students will be asked to wear masks and stay within their dedicated work area to help ensure proper social distancing.   \nDrop Off/Pick Up: Check-in and check-out will take place at the entrance of the ICCGS STEAM Classroom (ON THE 11th Avenue SIDE)\, located inside the Cherry Building across from the NewBo Marketplace. For safety\, parents/adults must sign their child in and out. Please be punctual with all drop-offs and pick-ups. Sign-in begins no more than 10 minutes before the start of camp. Unless previously arranged\, students will not be released until the end of class. For the best creative experience\, and for COVID-19 precautions\, parents/adults are not allowed in the studio space during class time — but are welcome to wait in the lobby area until the end of class. Please be sure to observe our COVID-19 precautions by wearing a mask inside the Cherry Building and observing 6 foot distance during pickup and drop off. \nCOVID-19 precautions: in the studio we are observing all COVID-19 precautions by maintaining distance\, limiting the number of people in the studio\, providing several hand washing stations and sanitizing all surfaces regularly. Anyone that enters the studio must wear a mask. All one-day hand building workshops will be held in our dedicated S.T.E.A.M classroom in the Cherry Building. Do not enter the building If your child feels ill or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19. In that case\, please contact us for a programming voucher\, or to be transferred to another Workshop by emailing us at info@iowaceramicscenter.org. Help us keep everyone safe by observing all COVID-19 precautions.  \nWhat to Wear and Bring: Masks are required in the studio during class\, masks are not provided by ICCGS. Clay may be messy\, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Please make sure your child is wearing clothing that can be easily laundered. Food is prohibited in the studio but water bottles (with secure tops) are allowed. \nCancellation Policy and Transfers: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met. In that event\, participants will be notified by email. If your camper cannot attend an upcoming workshop\, you must contact the center 72 hours before the camp begins. Let us know by sending an email to info@iowaceramicscenter.org or call us at 319-365-9644. If we receive your request within the 72 hour timeframe\, you will be issued a programming voucher. This voucher can be used for any upcoming class or workshop at the center. Alternatively we can also transfer you to another workshop\, if space is available.  \nCompleted Projects: ICCGS will process and fire all projects in our kilns.
