This class is more about the process of working with clay on the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. This class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old. All skill levels welcome. \nDate: Saturday\, March 30th \nTime: 10:30 AM–12:15 PM \nCost: $40.00/person\n[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://dd0000000cfsbeam.my.salesforce-sites.com/events/CnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage?event_id=a0J6T00000kxN7pUAE” url_new_window=”on” button_text=”Register” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ vertical_offset_tablet=”0″ horizontal_offset_tablet=”0″ custom_margin=”30px||30px||false|false” z_index_tablet=”0″ button_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” button_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” button_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” box_shadow_horizontal_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_vertical_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_blur_tablet=”40px” box_shadow_spread_tablet=”0px” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][et_pb_text admin_label=”All Saturday Extended Workshop” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ custom_padding=”||0px|||” global_module=”5011″ global_colors_info=”{}”] \nPre-registration online is required for classes and most workshops.  Kids ages 8 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.  Students’ work will be available for pickup 3 weeks after the end of their session/workshop. The results are more atmospheric due to the amount of soda ash introduced into the kiln at the top firing temperature. However\, this advanced firing technique takes additional preparation and staff hours. In this workshop you will learn about wadding techniques for the ICCGS soda kiln. All artists are required to wad their work for the soda kiln and need to take this workshop to fire in the ICCGS soda kiln. \nParticipants must be currently enrolled in the session. \nCOMMUNITY SODA PREPARATION POLICY: \n1- Participants must participate in at least one Soda firing-related workshop to understand the preparation and loading processes offered by ICCGS\, in order to have their work fired in the Soda Kilns. \n2- Participants will add wadding to their own pieces to help save time. Wadding is available two weeks before the firing (April 12-14). All wadding must be completed one day before the loading date\, at most the week before. \nLink to the soda kiln policy: https://iowaceramicscenter.square.site/kiln-policies \n\n\n  \n\n  \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAll classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio\, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117.  Please enter the building through the 10th Avenue side of the building. \n[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://dd0000000cfsbeam.my.salesforce-sites.com/events/CnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage?event_id=a0J6T00000kxMgAUAU” url_new_window=”on” button_text=”March/April Students Sign up Here” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Gather your friends and/or partner and join us for a fun Friday Night Out—for 21 and over only. Participants may BYOB. \n\nIn this workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind candle lantern\, pre-made on the ceramic wheel by your Instructor. Participants will dream up their designs\, then using x-acto knives\, you will transfer it into the clay to ‘cut away’ and create the design.  Projects will result in cut outs that will dance on your walls when illuminated with a light or a candle. Participants may also choose to paint their lanterns using ceramic glazes\, or leave their forms ‘natural clay’. The options are endless! Candle not provided. Finished projects will be approximately 4×4 and will be ready for pick up 3 weeks later.  \nDate: Friday\, March 8th \nTime: 6:30PM–8:00PM \nCost: $45.00 person \n\n \n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://dd0000000cfsbeam.my.salesforce-sites.com/events/CnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage?event_id=a0JUO000000HGOY2A4″ url_new_window=”on” button_text=”Register” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ vertical_offset_tablet=”0″ horizontal_offset_tablet=”0″ custom_margin=”30px||30px||false|false” z_index_tablet=”0″ button_text_shadow_horizontal_length_tablet=”0px” button_text_shadow_vertical_length_tablet=”0px” button_text_shadow_blur_strength_tablet=”1px” box_shadow_horizontal_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_vertical_tablet=”0px” box_shadow_blur_tablet=”40px” box_shadow_spread_tablet=”0px” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” _builder_version=”4.14.8″ global_module=”5057″ global_colors_info=”{}”] \nFriday Nights Out at ICCGS!  21 years and older.  Join us in the studio for a fun project.
