DESCRIPTION:Discover the beauty of clay in this special collaboration between Brucemore and the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio! \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll create your own one-of-a-kind clay peony. Our experienced instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process\, teaching you how to pull\, shape\, and refine clay into delicate\, lifelike petals. Watch your flower come to life as each layer builds into a stunning\, dimensional bloom. While this project invites patience and focus\, the end result is a truly unique piece you’ll be proud to display. \nThe workshop will take place in the historic Brucemore Carriage House\, with all materials\, tools\, and instruction provided. After the workshop\, your piece will be transported to the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio\, where it will be professionally kiln-fired and glazed\, resulting in a vibrant\, finished peony ready to hang on your wall. \nRegistration is required by May 27 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot.Cost: $50 per project \nWhat to Know Before You Go: \n\nSpace is limited and workshops often sell out—advance registration is required.\nRecommended for ages 12 and up. DESCRIPTION:Add a vibrant pop of color to your garden in this creative collaboration between Brucemore and the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio! \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll design your own stunning glass butterfly using warm glass techniques. Choose from a variety of colorful glass pieces to create bright\, eye-catching wings\, then finish your design with playful\, curly antennae. Our instructor will guide you through each step\, making this an approachable and rewarding experience for all skill levels. \nThe workshop takes place in the historic Brucemore Carriage House\, with all materials\, tools\, and protective eyewear provided. After the workshop\, your butterfly will be taken to the Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio to be kiln-fired. Once complete\, a metal stake will be added\, transforming your piece into a beautiful\, ready-to-display garden accent—perfect for outdoor spaces or indoor planters. \nRegistration is required by July 19th at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot.Cost: $55 per project \nWhat to Know Before You Go: \n\nSpace is limited and workshops often sell out—advance registration is required.\nRecommended for ages 12 and up.
