In this class\, we will assist you in learning how to center the clay on the wheel and how to create cups and bowls\, with in-depth demonstrations. This class is more about the process of working with the wheel than a specific project. Great for kids and adults who are interested in developing a set of skills for working with clay. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel.  This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand.  Minimum age is 9 years old. In this class\, students will learn the fundamentals of crystalline glaze techniques including: specialty forms and firing processes.  Porcelain and B-Clay bodies will be exclusively used in this class. Firing costs range by size (a 5-inch cup is approximately $3.00 to fire)\n*For Open Studio access\, students are required to adhere to ICCGS Open Studio Policies and current COVID-19 protocols.\n\nMake-up Policy: ICCGS is not responsible for changes in students’ personal schedules. For adult classes\, all students should attend one class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class. If a class MUST be missed\, no additional makeup classes\, refunds\, or credits for class will be given for missed classes. Private lessons\, for current students\, are available at $30 per hour. \nWhat to wear: Students must wear closed toed shoes for safety and ceramic wheel students should wear clothes they do not mind getting messy. Each participant will complete at least 1-2 cups or bowls. Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln\, then coated with a white glaze and fired again. Your finished projects will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS. \nThis class is all about the experience and learning how to work with the pottery wheel. This is a great way for kids and parents alike who are interested in working with clay to experience it firsthand. Minimum age is 9 years old.
