Friday Night Out—Spring Bud Vase

Come in after a long week and get your hands dirty, and learn a new ceramic technique! Gather your friends and/or partner and join us for a fun Friday Night Out—for 21 and over only.  Participants may BYOB. 

Join us for an assembly workshop. Participants will learn to piece together parts they created from hand, to make a pretty bud vase.  You will learn how to use pinch techniques to create the body of the vase, coils for stability and slab techniques to create the neck of your vase.  You can then add texture, or etch out a design in the wet clay.  You will use our special ceramic paints (glazes) to personalize it for your home, or to give as a gift.  Projects will then be dried on our shelves and fired in the kiln, then they will be coated with a special clear glaze and fired again.  Your finished 4”x4” project will be available for pickup 3 weeks later at ICCGS.

Cost: $40.00/person

Friday Nights Out at ICCGS!  21 years and older.  Join us in the studio for a fun project. BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage).  We'll teach you about clay or glass - and you'll have a lot of fun!  No experience is necessary.  In each workshop you will create a piece of art that is yours to keep, then pick up your works 3 weeks later.

Cancellation policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event, participants will be notified and credit for a future class/workshop credit will be given in the form of a certificate.  Participants may cancel their session for future class credits 72 hours/ 3 days before the class/workshop begins.  You may email us at [email protected] about your cancellation. 

All classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117
