Friday Night Out: Sgraffito Tree Platter

​Friday Night Out! Our popular monthly series for six years running! Come in after a long work week and be creative. BYOB. This workshop is for ages 21 and over only.

Join us during the Derecho Anniversary week to create a beautiful tree.  In this workshop participants will work with pre-made 6-8” platters made from wet clay.  All projects will already be covered with slip, and ready for carving.  Participants will utilize the art of Sgraffito to carve into the clay to reveal their version of a tree.  All projects will then be fired in the kiln twice and available for pickup 3 weeks later.

Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm 

Cost: $50.00/person 

Friday Nights Out at ICCGS!  21 years and older.  Join us in the studio for a fun project. BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage).  We'll teach you about clay or glass - and you'll have a lot of fun!  No experience is necessary.  In each workshop you will create a piece of art that is yours to keep, then pick up your works 3 weeks later.

Cancellation policy: ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event, participants will be notified and credit for a future class/workshop credit will be given in the form of a certificate.  Participants may cancel their session for future class credits 72 hours/ 3 days before the class/workshop begins.  You may email us at [email protected] about your cancellation. 

All classes and workshops are held at: Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117
