At Home Hand Building and Surface Design with Alex Schmiechen: Zoom Online Class

Class Summary: for ages 14+.  During this class we will explore small scale hand building of functional works and various surface design techniques such as sgraffito and painting with underglaze. We will meet once a week via Zoom (look out for an email with the meeting code and password every week!). Each class will last 1.5-2 hours and will include detailed demonstration as well as time for student questions! You will be able to drop off work to be bisque fired (the cost of firing is not included in class fee) on Saturdays from 10-4, we will have a cart located outside of the Cherry Building by the cherry sculpture. The center will clear glaze and fire your work, we will then notify you when items are available for curbside pickup.

PLEASE NOTE: supplies for the class must be picked up on either May 9th and May 16th between 10am-4pm.

Supplies included in the cost of the class for pickup:

• one loop tool
• black and white slip (2 ounces each)
• 12 pounds of low fire white clay
• stylus tool

Cost: $80.00 ( includes 4 weeks of online class, one loop tool, black and white slip (2 ounces each), 12.5 pounds of low fire white clay)
