Wednesday morning 8 week class March 11th – April 29th

This is a class for any level.  During the first six weeks we will concentrate on the basics of glass fusing (cutting and firing temperatures) and different techniques of decorating glass while creating small projects.  The last two weeks will be for larger projects of your choosing.  No glass experience is necessary.

Glass Classes:

• Tuition includes some glass, use of frits, stringers, and noodles, shelf space and open studio time

• Bring a 12×12 storage case for your glass and one roll of paper towels or kleenex

NOTES:

• Glass tools and other glass supplies may be purchased at ICCGS.

• Unless otherwise noted, class participants will be charged firing/slumping fees

Class Policies & Procedures

All participants at ICCGS must adhere to the student guide policy provided to you on the first day of class, also located in the office. Our policies and procedures are also available online here.

The fee for one session of classes provides for the following (unless otherwise specified)

• Instruction during your class time.
• Open Studio Access.  Students are welcome to work during open studio hours.  Please note that open studio hours are subject to change for ICCGS programming.
• A storage shelf for your work and supplies.

Make-up Policy

iCCGS is not responsible for changes in students’ personal schedules. For adult classes, all students should attend one class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class.  If a class MUST be missed, no additional makeup classes, refunds, or credits for class will be given for missed classes.  Private lessons, for current students, are available at $30 per hour.

Cancellation policy:

ICCGS reserves the right to cancel sessions due to the minimum enrollment not being met.  In that event, participants will be notified and refunds will be given.  Participants may cancel their session for a full refund, minus $5.00 for processing fees 72 hours/ 3 days before the class begins.  Please email us at [email protected] about your cancellation.  If a student contacts us after the 72-hour deadline, a refund will not be provided.

All classes and workshops are held at:

Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio, located in the NewBo district in the Cherry Building at 329 10^th Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  The center is located on the first floor in Suite 117

End of Session Policies

Completed and fired work will only be held for 30 days after the end of session. Non-returning students must clear off their shelves by the last class session. Any work or personal items found on shelves of students who have not re-registered for class will become property of the studio to be recycled or thrown away as we re-assign shelves to new incoming students.
