This annual Art Market invites regional artists to sell handmade artworks inspired by plants and sustainability. The market will feature a curated selection of unique pottery, original artworks, and prints, all available for purchase at The Cherry Building.
The Pots, Plants & Prints Artist Market is hosted by the ICCGS in conjunction with Cedar Rapids EcoFest, celebrating Earth Day.
Stop by to add your creativity to a collaborative and evolving Community Sculpture Table! Add you bit to this clay sculputure, or add on to what someone has already added.
The sculpture will be destroyed and then recycled for use in another sculpture!
Come in to get a practice session on a ceramic wheel with one of our artists. We will center the clay for you, to learn the magic to creating a cylinder. This is all for fun!
If you’ve never tried the wheel before this is a great opportunity to try it out–we think you will be back for one of our Wheel Try It workshops next!
Come in to make your own with our midwestern wildflowers or grab one that we have already made for you!
Location: Cherry Building yard
Time: 11am – 3pm
Seed bombs are made using soil, clay and seeds. Each element plays a roll in the success of germination. Seed bombs are an easy way to plant seeds in difficult-to-reach areas, promoting vegetation growth in barren spaces, especially when using native plant seeds, which can help support local wildlife and biodiversity; they are also a fun and educational activity for people of all ages to engage with nature restoration efforts.
Come in to the historic Cherry Building and check out all of the artists we will have selling their work–with the highlight on ecology and nature.
We need volunteers to help with set up and take down, Seed Ball Making Station and those will wheel experience to assist with hands -on demonstrations.
